Sidock Moves In

Pretty much everyone has a good idea of what the Sidock building looks like from the outside. Under construction for more than a year right at the round an about, it would be rather hard to miss. But last week the 20 local employees moved in allowing a peek at the tastefully done interior. Muskegon Main Street caught up with Tom Winer, Senior Project Manager to hear about how the move went and how the folks are liking their new digs.

In late May, a group of Sidock employees traveled down to the Florida keys to participate in the Company’s 4th annual Marathon Open Fishing Tournament.  Sidock had two boats that competed against each other this year.  Again, Mahi Mahi was the target species and Mahi fishing was extremely good with several caught in the 20+ lb range.  Additionally, a large number of yellowtail snapper were caught.  Bill Sidock's boat won this years tournament.  The weather was perfect and the group spent part of a day snorkeling at Sombrero Key before our traditional evening in Key West to close out the trip.

Sidock Group, Inc. hosts its 3rd annual company golf outing

On August 4th, Sidock Group held it’s 3rd annual company golf outing at the Links of Whitmore Lake.  This outing is organized for employees and spouses/family members from both offices, and is played in a scramble format.  Event planner Steve DeHorn’s team, consisting of Steve with his wife Allison and Rob Gundry with his fiancée Lisa, ran away with it, finishing at 9 under.  Two teams tied for second, 7 strokes back, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that Steve stacked his team.  Despite this, we all thank and congratulate Steve for a fine event and look forward to next year.

Sidock Group, Inc. participates in 3rd annual Marathon Open Fishing Tournament

In early June, a group of Sidock employees traveled down to the Florida keys to participate in the Company’s 3rd annual Marathon Open Fishing Tournament.  Our usual competitor, Metro Industrial Contracting, was unable to make the trip this year, so the three Sidock boats competed against each other.  As in the past, Mahi Mahi was the target species, however, as the Mahi fishing was extremely slow, other species were eventually targeted including Wahoo and Blackfin Tuna.  Highlights included a 34 lb. Blackfin, caught by Jerry Bole of our Muskegon office, and (3) 28 lb. Mahi landed on the boat led by President Bill Sidock, a veteran Keys angler.  While the fishing was slow, the weather was beautiful and the group enjoyed a number of other recreational activities such as snorkeling in Bahia Honda and wandering the streets of Key West.  We all look forward to next year's trip!
