DTE Energy Monroe Power Plant U2A Winterization Project

Due to new federal regulations, DTE is required to run the Selective Catalytic Reduction System (SCR) year round as opposed to in the summer only.  This change requires complete winterization of a system designed to run in warm months only.  The project consists of constructing a 30,000 sq. ft., 50 ft. tall process building around the existing Urea to Ammonia System (U2A) as well as numerous upgrades to the entire system including heat trace, new controls and programming, emergency ammonia ventilation system, site revisions, etc.  The project also includes structural enclosure of the SCR snow decks which are approximately 80' up on the SCR reactor towers.

DTE Energy River Rouge Power Plant Nitrogen Supply to PCI

The PCI project required a significant increase in nitrogen supply to the Power House Area and to Zug Island, where the flow rate is beyond the capacity of the existing 4" line.  In order to correct this problem Sidock designed a 2nd 4" nitrogen supply line from the Praxair delivery point to the (CPI) area.  The new line required a pressure regulating station located in the vicinity of the (CPI) area and the station consisted of 2 self contained pressure regulators installed in series with a pressure relief valve installed downstream of the regulators.

DTE Energy St. Clair Power Plant Re-Heater Dryer System

Installation of an air purge system to remove stagnant oxygen-saturated water formed during unit shutdown.  Intent is to extend the life of the Unit #1-4 Furnaces horizontal reheated tube banks by eliminating oxygen pitting related corrosion.  Using soot blower air for supply, the air sweep drying systems was piped from a new central air dryer through a common header with isolatable supply branches to Unit #1-4.  Sidock's scope included both mechanical & electrical engineering, feasibility study, equipment specification, and development of piping & electrical installation drawings.
